In shadows deep, where silence weeps,
Many thousands lost, their promise keeps.
Shattered lives, in pieces lie,
While echoes of agony fill the sky.
Limbs once whole now scattered wide,
Beneath the rubble, hope has died.
Crying out from the depths of despair,
A haunting chorus fills the air.
Schools and dreams turned to dust,
Fertile lands reduced to rust.
Charcoal fields where laughter bloomed,
Now barren grounds where sorrow loomed.
Children orphaned, futures torn,
Joyful wives now left to mourn.
Smiles replaced by tears that flow,
In a world that seems to forgo.
Debates rage on, a civilized charade,
Is it genocide? The question displayed.
What is this plight we choose to ignore?
A new normal of hypocrisy at our core.
Helpless we stand as horrors unfold,
Humanity’s story, so painfully told.
Under the sun, we witness the fight,
Yet turn our backs from the fading light.
Let us awaken to the cries of the lost,
To heal the wounds and bear the cost.
For in our hearts lies the power to mend,
To stand for justice and be a true friend.
