🔹 The Beginning: UNRWA’s Lifeline to Gaza

In Gaza’s early struggles under blockade and bombardment—starting October 7, 2023—UNRWA was Gaza’s last hope. With deep-rooted networks and Palestinian staff, it delivered food, water, and medicine despite the destruction.

But in January 2024, Israel accused UNRWA staff of aiding Hamas—without evidence—prompting a cascade of funding suspensions. By mid‑2024, Israel blocked UNRWA convoys, systematically dismantling Gaza’s neutral aid framework.

🔹 GHF Emerges: The U.S.–Israeli Counterpart

In February 2025, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) launched “secure distribution zones” in Rafah, Khan Younis, and the Netzarim Corridor—backed by the U.S. and Israel. Jake Wood, a U.S. Marine veteran, became its founding director.

But marvels soon turned to dread. Wood resigned on May 25, 2025, telling the New York Times:

“It is impossible to implement this plan while strictly adhering to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence.”

Between May 27 and June 29, more than 549 Palestinians were killed and 4,000+ injured near GHF aid sites—according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Reuters, Haaretz, and Wikipedia.

🔹 Humanitarian Camouflage & Command Responsibility

This is not accidental tragedy—it’s systematic, lethal control:

Wikipedia documents GHF complicity, with reports of 9 disappeared
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese: "This is not aid—it is humanitarian camouflage for a siege."
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF): Described GHF’s system as "slaughter masquerading as relief."
UN Secretary-General António Guterres: Called the sites “death zones.”
Even Haaretz reported that IDF commanders were ordered to shoot at unarmed civilians if they approached aid trucks in an unapproved manner—confirming that these were not accidents, but part of an intentional policy of lethal deterrence.

🔹 New Leadership, Continued Bloodshed

After Wood’s resignation, David Barak took over GHF. Despite promises of “coordination with the IDF,” the killings escalated.

And the hunger deepened.
